The Designer:

“Graphic design is a means, not an end. A language, not content.”
-Tibor Kalman, Perverse Optimist

I chose Tibor Kalman. Kalman is a now deceased Hungarian designer most famous for his strong socio-political activism works and having a strong influence for many designers. His philosophy was to design with a meaning.

He had a strong philosophy and  always strongly supported events that he believed in. He used his designs to communicate his beliefs and sought to use good design for greater cause. He was against big corporations and what they were doing to design in the 80s, making it design for design sake, no deeper meaning. He wanted to make more than just pretty pictures and did so with his controversial works.
He was the editor and chief of Colors magazine.
